Fire Door Functional Overview

A fire door is a passive fire protection system designed to contain fire, restrict smoke movement, and support safe compartmentalisation within a building.

For effective performance, the full assembly must work together — including the frame, door leaf, hardware, glazing, and seals.

Where are fire doors typically used?

  • Staircases, plant rooms & utility areas Commonly used at staircase access points from corridors, and for laboratories, workshops, storerooms, and plant rooms.
  • Protected escape & circulation routes Installed in circulation areas forming part of escape routes, including entrance lobbies and doors leading to external paths.
  • High-risk accommodation zones Used where corridors must remain protected from adjoining rooms, particularly in bedrooms and office dead-end conditions.

Direct answers regarding installation, compliance, and engineering properties.

Absolutely. Our doors are strictly tested and certified under IS 3614-2021 and IS/ISO 3008-1. They meet the mandatory fire safety requirements for high-rise buildings, hospitals, and industrial zones across India. Authentic certificates are provided immediately upon project handover.

Yes, we specialize in bespoke manufacturing. While our standard tested max size is 2300mm x 2700mm, we utilize advanced CNC fabrication to create custom dimensions that fit specific rough openings perfectly. Note that dimensions significantly exceeding tested standards may require a special technical assessment.

HMPS doors offer superior longevity and structural integrity. Unlike wood, steel does not warp, crack, or swell due to moisture or seasonal humidity changes. They are inherently termite-proof, impact-resistant, and require virtually zero structural maintenance over their 20+ year lifespan.

Yes. The Andro system is available as a complete "plug-and-play" assembly. We can pre-fit or supply compatible ironmongery including Panic Bars, Door Closers, Mortise Locks, and Vision Panels. Using our factory-approved hardware ensures the fire rating certification remains valid.

Our automated manufacturing line allows for rapid turnaround. Standard sizes are typically dispatched within 10-14 days. Custom powder-coating colors or non-standard engineering requirements generally require 3-4 weeks. We prioritize urgent safety requirements whenever possible.
